About Me

I’ve been sewing since I was little. We always had a sewing machine at our house – my mom made clothes and Halloween costumes for me and my brother. She’s a talented sewist who learned from her mom.

My grandmother sewed elaborate dresses for herself and her girls, and she passed her love of sewing and one of her Bernina sewing machines down to me (lucky me!).

I had that Bernina for many years, until it finally gave up the ghost. One time, I took it to a sewing machine tech who lived down the street. I thought to myself, I want to do that!

My first paper-pieced quilt, made for my mom. It took a loooong time to make.

I work in the quilt world and have a serious obsession with fabric and textiles, old and new. I probably don’t need to buy fabric for oh, about a decade! If you love fabric, maybe you can relate?

Now I’m the person on my block who fixes sewing machines!

In 2024, I took my first class with Sewing Doc Academy to learn how to service domestic sewing machines. As of September 2025, I’m an Apprentice Technician working towards Certified Technician status through online learning and hands-on experience with a range of machine types and technical skills.

If you have a machine that needs a tune-up, I can help – please fill out my service form.
